The Pool of Talent

Far too many student-athletes are lost because they think they are going to be discovered. But remember that college programs have a pool of talent that includes over 7.3 million high school athletes in more than twenty-five sports, and each coach has less than about $500 on average to sort through all these athletes. Just take a look a Williams College’s recruiting budget. Williams College ranks first in U.S. News & World Report’s list of liberal arts colleges. It has the top-rated DIII program according to the Director’s Cup, and for three years straight, Williams College has topped NCSA’s Collegiate Power Rankings.
